Rice Elementary Receives ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant

Rice Elementary School recently received a 2015-16  ExxonMobil Educational Alliance Grant.

The money that Rice Elementary received will be spent on replenishing science experiment supplies. Rice Elementary employs the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania supported “Science It’s Elementary” (SIE) approach to science education. SIE is a hands on approach with a heavy emphasis on learning science by “doing” science. The $500 grant will be spent refurbishing consumable supplies that are parts of kits utilized within the curriculum. The kits include, but are not limited to, magnets and motors, animal studies, levers and pulleys, ecosystems, and electrical circuits.

Rice Elementary Principal Kevin Seyer extends gratitude to Joe’s Kwik Mart, 500 Church Street, White Haven, who nominated Rice Elementary for this grant.
